Have you ever been in the “lounge” of a firehouse, legion hall, sons of Italy, or other town club? Usually very Old School, with leatherette upholstery, dark wood panelling, lamps that look like oil lamps, mens and ladies room signs that have silhouettes of the individual gender.
When I’ve been invited into these places, I get a sense of the people from years ago, enjoying a drink, a ball game on a small black and white television over the bar, having a great old time.
